The territory is the result of continuous interventions, manipulation and transformation processes in which the natural and the artificial elements merge together; the surface is the text on which the stratification of stories and events is impressed.
This surface is extremely varied (dunes, hills, folds, tears, cuts). It’ s the result of deformations and dislocations in time and space reflecting the multiple social and economic actions assembled over time.
It is the main material of a project of land in which few are the moments when our changing (designing) the space finds results completely volumetric. The project is always an interstitial intervention, a project of "infiltration" in which the modeling of the land area is the unstable component,
revealing new emerging forms of space.
If architecture appears as a "vertical" entity always closely linked (structured) over the ground that it occupies and the ground (the horizontality) appears as a passive "ground", in the idea of the project of "surface" , the soil becomes an active part in the construction of spaces where the architecture looks like a floating figure consisting of the same material of the soil; like its own extension.
The instruments of control, the strategies used to assemble, "meaning" large and heterogeneous parts of this hybrid territory, are to be found from time to time in the assembly of known procedures (primary) partition, add, - excavation, landfill, able to reconstruct the story of these new spaces.
Agritecture means an integrated and systematic process between the rules of the settlement of the open space (agriculture) and those of their architectural discipline.
The crasis between architecture and agriculture marks a new field of action in which settlement hypothesis does not start from the built to the colonization of the vacuum, but starts just from this vacuum like a new possible order.
It’s a process of re-appropriation of the vacuum on empty.
The idea is that one to think these spaces starting from their characteristic of vacuum, not "empty city", or a full gap, but a unique generator of a category of space governed by the vacuum; an operation of deurbanization:
It is not the city that with its rules expands and colonizes an indefinitely gap, but the empty space with an operation of awareness of its own taxonomic begins the colonization of space in the city.
An inversion of the settlement matrix: the city-nature.
The soil with its texture becomes the matrix of settlements and figurative semantic point: tower blocks generated from the tissue of farmland like a natural continuation of the system of fields and open spaces.
The design of settlement tissue with its recurrence identifies a non linear sequence of spaces.
"The use of architecture still seems the only way to properly bear on the natural disorder. It 'a way of saying that the biological order (...) has not yet been perceived like a new possibility of conception "(...) The garden is the privileged place of the changes (...) The history of gardens shows that man has consistently fought against these changes.
Everything happens as if the man tried to oppose to the general entropy that governs the universe.
