ADRIATIC ARCHITECTURE:
Manuel Orazi’s Book on Architect Giovanni Vaccarini
Perhaps inspired by Mediterranean Breviary by Predrag Matvejević, Manuel Orazi tells the story of the Adriatic mosaic in which Vaccarini works, weaving connections that include cinema, art, music, literature, and the biographies of international architects with Abruzzese roots, such as Robert Venturi.
The tone is non-judgmental as Venturi himself might say necessary to recount a narrative that Vaccarini was part of, one that theorized an indulgent view of the sprawling city, not as a form of resignation but as a transformative approach.
