PARTNERSHIP:

Giovanni Vaccarini’s “Adriatic architecture” is a central theme in his theoretical and design work, especially since the publication of the volume Adriatic Architectures (2025 – LetteraVentidue Edizioni).
It is not a stylistic label, but a way of reading the Adriatic territory—its geographies, its materials, its lights—and translating it into a contemporary architectural practice.
The Adriatic is not a backdrop but an energetic system: wind, grazing light, the marine horizon, atmospheric instability.
Architecture responds to this theme not by imposing itself, but by resonating with it.
Starting from the so-called “Pescara School” and moving through the territories and projects of the GVA studio, this Adriatic dimension of the firm’s work will be described.
