The idea of the project is to study a hybrid typology in which the residential fabric and the sports structure merge into a continuum.
As well as the Colosseum it is perfectly fine integrated and is part of the urban fabric of ancient Rome, in the project the basic residential module (about 30 sqm meters) becomes the matrix of an “urban Lego” that conforms within the territory / texture by conforming to the football field.
A sort of “Piazza del Campo” where a part of the residential modules are used as “sky box ”or” ground box “during matches, transforming the entire structure from 40,000 to 60,000 seats.
The stadium structures are smoothly distributed in the strip of the first four Sky box levels, while along the axis of Driggs Avenue are the shops and commercial spaces; at the end of the tower there are multipurpose spaces, offices and residential units.
The tower is an urban icon facing the Manatthan skyline. It is an urban lantern. The gardens integrate and merge with the residential green roof system.
Public, private and semi-private spaces constitute a functional continuum.
