SAAD Unicam
Presentation of issue 07 of Enter_Vista
Giovanni Vaccarini
Edited by: Ludovico Romagni
The research on the theme of the Palazzina Adriatica is part of a broader body of studies dedicated to the transformations of contemporary living and the relationship between architecture and context. The research considers the palazzina as a significant typology within the Adriatic urban landscape, exploring its historical roots, recent evolutions, and design potential. Through a critical and multidisciplinary approach, the study highlights issues related to the construction of form, the articulation of space, and the dialogue between building, city, and landscape.
Within this framework is issue 07/25 of the journal Enter_Vista: Palazzina Adriatica, dedicated to Arch. Giovanni Vaccarini, which gathers contributions, interviews, and interpretative readings capable of reflecting the complexity of the theme. The volume retraces key moments of his formation, the Pescara School, the decisive encounters, and the themes that have guided his design research. The focus centers on one of his most recent interventions along the Pescara seafront: De Amicis 154, offering a critical reflection on the Palazzina Adriatica, examining the relationship between architecture and the urban context, and connecting the dimension of professional practice with that of research and theoretical reflection. An articulated panorama emerges, where design experiences and theoretical positions interact, offering new tools for interpretation. The issue includes theoretical contributions by Federico Bilò, Brunetto De Battè, Roberta Lucente, Giulia Menzietti, and Gianluigi Mondaini.
The event, promoted by IN/ARCH Marche and the Order of Architects PPC of the Province of Ascoli Piceno, will take place at SAAD – School of Architecture and Design of the University of Camerino in Ascoli Piceno, and will be specifically dedicated to this issue of the journal. The gathering will bring together intellectuals, professors, architects, and students, serving as a public forum on the themes addressed in the volume and as an opportunity for dialogue within the academic context of SAAD.
